"Her wonderful Art..."
~.~.~
We went to this wonderful furniture shop @ Millenia Walk, called SPACE. I just love browsing through these D.I.Y, furniture, arty farty places... where I get to see cool stuffs, so I particularly like walking through IKEA. Back to SPACE... I really like the entrance of the place. It's this really big 2-piece sliding glass door, with the name SPACE written on it. Reminds me alot about those shuttle doors in those sci-fic movies. It's so cool~! I just had to ask Charmaine to help me take a picture of me posing infront of the Door. =P
~.~.~
Once you get past the glass doors, you will enter into a seemingly show-room kinda setting, "CANASTA" by Patricia Urquiola, where the designer's furniture & layout are displayed for the public to view & purchase. We know because all the furniture in that show-room were tagged with "Sold". The biography of the designer, Patricia Urquiola, is also written on the side wall. And once inside, I couldn't stop snapping shots at everything...
~.~.~
The place is just filled with so many furniture, both of vibrant colours & innovative designs. These are the things that keep me calm, soothe my mind & soul, & provide me with inspiration. The Best thing is that both of us have the same things in common... We enjoy simple browsing through of furniture & taking random shots of everything & anything. Without noticing, we could easily spend half the day away in the shop. =P And as we continue walking around... I start to fathom about how I'm gonna decorate my future home. I do this all the time, whenever I visit a furniture shop... And when the next one comes along, I have a totally new idea/concept again...
~.~.~
Last time, I only have the concept of the decoration & furniture in the house. But now, I too have a concept of who the mistress of the house will be... =P

== LOVES ==
~.~.~

"If time stood still like this forever..."

Today we are a couple on a mission~ to get ourselves a webcam each from COMEX 2008. I have to travel all the way back home from hall early in the morning... & then met Charmaine on the MRT along NEL. haha... Our normal mode of meeting up... She ALWAYS gives me last minute notice, causing me to always run for the "arriving in 2mins" train... Lucky up till now, I've always managed to catch up with the train & meet her on it. Phew~

But we went to buy tickets for the movie: "WALL-E" first - the movie that both of us want to watch sooo much... We found out that SAFRA card can get you tickets at $8 each instead of the usual $10 on weekends (just to share with you all). Then after that, we went for late lunch at the Marina foodcourt... coz apparently my hunger got the better of me~ =P And I showed her my favourite muffins stall over there in the foodcourt, & I bought some muffins for Charmaine's family... (to get into their good books). hehehe... (need to score points leh).

And so, we finally made our way to COMEX at Suntec City Convention Hall. There was alot of people there, even on a Friday. "People Mountain People Sea"... But not as bad I would predict on Saturday & Sunday, I guess. Though we still had to squeeze through the crowd, we managed to get ourselves our webcams from Phillip! Usual price $59.00 now $39.00~ Woohoo, that means we can see each other more often online.

After purchasing our goods, we walked around Suntec City & came to the fountain beside TopShop... & I particularly liked the "quality, sweet & wonderful time" we spent there... IF only time stood still like then forever, if only... It wouldnt matter, cuz nothing else mattered.

We stayed in that position until like the very last minute, before we had to really leave & make our way to Golden Village, for we were running late for the movie~ Got our popcorn n drinks, & enter the cinema. Watched a wonderful, splendid show... where Love between two robots, Wall-E & Eva blossomed, & how the human race find its way back to Earth after hundred of years drifting about in outer space, in wait for the Earth to regenerate itself from the damage done by us, mankind.

After the movie, we went over to Candy Empire to buy a chocolate bar (that's me) & a box of mini cheezels (that's her). Charmaine is a sucker when it comes to CHEESE!... hahah. Then I brought her to Lavender FoodCourt, my favourite childhood eating place where my Dad used to bring my family to, & so I wanted to share this (something close to my heart) with her. I treated her to the famous Albert Street Prawn Noodles, famous wanton mee & famous cheng ting over at the Foodcourt~! All are famous, cuz I like them. The prawn mee is NICE for $4~! The wanton mee is NICE, just too bad the serving's abit small for $3.50~ The Cheng Ting is NICE & has alot of ingredients in it, plus it's only $1.70~ haha~ Now, she also likes them!

After a hearty & fulfilling dinner, I sent Charmaine back home before heading home myself. The first thing we did, was to install the webcam, & test it out. Who knows, once we start, we couldn't stop. Haha... "Truly every moment spent with her is wonderful, no matter how long..." =)

Lover, this song is for you...
When you love someone, you will do anything
You'll do all the crazy things that you can't explain
You'll shoot the moon, put out the sun
When you love someone
~.~.~
You'll deny the truth, believe a lie
There'll be times that you'll believe you could really fly
But your lonely nights have just begun
When you love someone
~.~.~
When you love someone, you'll feel it deep inside
And nothing else can ever change your mind
When you want someone, when you need someone
When you love someone
~.~.~
When you love someone, you'll sacrifice
You'd give it everything you got and you won't think twice
You'd risk it all no matter what may come
When you love someone
You'll shoot the moon, put out the sun
When you love someone

Injured shoulder; stressed mind.

Did you know... XOXO means "Hugs and Kisses" or "Loves and Kisses", typically used to express affection or good friendship at the end of a written letter or email? I didn't know too.. till Charmaine told me about it. And laughed at me for not knowing... diaoz. haha.
~.~.~
Some say the X represents the four lips of a kiss, and the O ther four arms of a hug. Oxford English Dictionary states that X is "used to represent a kiss, esp. in the subscription to a letter". Another intrepretation assumes X as the crossed arms of a hug, and O as the puckered lips of a kiss. Also, it can be said that the X's are the arms crossing during a hug, and the O's are the circular shape that two people make when kissing. In addition, there is another intrepretation, based on the pronounciation of the letter X sounding like "kiss" & O sounding like "hold", as in "I hold you".
~.~.~
The use of "XOXO" goes back to the use of an X or cross, which was considered as good as a sworn oath in times when most people could write and therefore used the X in the same way a signature is used today - a mark of one's word. An X at the end of a letter or document was often kissed with a seal of honesty, in much the same way one would kiss the Bible or kiss the fingers after making the sign of the Christian cross. Thus the X came to represent the kiss in modern times. The origins of the O as a hug however, are not so generally known. But they are speculated that it may represent the arms wrapped around someone being hugged.
~.~.~
Quite cool... this interesting fact. Hmph...
~.~.~
I thought I almost lost U that night. Did you know how scared I was to think of U leaving me forever? Not being able to hold your warm, lovely hands, smell your soothing, fragrant hair, hear your silly, cheerful laughters or simply not seeing U, ever again. Please, girl... Never ever doubt yourself again. Never doubt the position U have in my heart. Never~ For U are the One for me now... today, tomorrow, the day after, next week, next month, next year, the rest of my life~

23rd August, 2008... A Night I'll Remember.
This night to many others may just be another night of wonderful, spectacular fireworks under the caliginous nightsky. Because tonight is the second night of the "Fireworks Festival" down at the Floating Gallery next to the Esplande.

But to me & Charmaine, it was a special night for us... It's our second outing watching the fireworks in this one month. hahaha... This time however, less bloopers~! Everything went quite well, despite the continuous drizzling ("Drizzle Lin"), but that little setback was easily solved with my well-prepared umbrella~ hehe. (so remember guys, important to have an umbrella kept away in your bag when out on dates with the girl you wanna impress).

Anyway, we arrived early. I would consider ourselves as being early, coz at later periods of the time, even more people came along. So we were lucky, we came early & got ourselves some seats on the steps next to the band-stage, facing straight at the entrance of the Esplande. The floor was wet, of coz, but thanks to the AHM goodie bag Charmaine had... our butts were saved from soaking embarrassment. =P But as we waited under our small umbrella, at the corner of my eyes, I saw Nick (from Dragonboat). What luck~! haha... He didn't see us but we had to hide under the umbrella still.
~.~.~
Finally, the time arrived... and the fireworks started. I took a video with my handphone while Charmaine took pictures with my digi-cam. She even took the pictures till I saw her eyes teared, gosh so cute... haha. =P The fireworks lasted around a full 15 minutes or so. The fireworks were wonderful~ even better than the previous day's one, they say.
~.~.~
And when the fireworks finally ended, the crowd started to leave the area altogether. The place was packed, like a can of sardines, rushing to exit from the place. And in the midst of all the chaos & turmoil, Leslie did the one thing he knew he would never regret for the rest of his life. His hand found its way into her hand & held onto it, held onto it tightly. To keep her by his side amidst the whole helter-skelter, to keep her by his side for the rest of his life...
~.~.~
And we finally made our way through the crowd, into Marina Square, where we bumped into Nick again, outside Golden Village. This time, he sees us, he sees us holding hands too. Guess there's no hiding afterall. =P With no movie timings available, we went for dinner at Burger King's. At Burger King's, we saw this baby that instantly reminded us both of Dr. Bailey from Grey's Anatomy (one of our favourite drama series). I think the baby will grow up to become just like her? Check it out below:
~.~.~
Anyway, after dinner, we went back to my place, to pass Charmaine a bag she could use for tomorrow's AHM. While I was upstairs in my home, she was patiently waiting downstairs in the void deck, with her handphone's MP3 player playing out loud, she thinks that will keep the "wolves" away. So when I finally came downstair and passed her the bag, I sent her home.
~.~.~
On the way back home, I made her stop by the park near her place & I passed her a parcel carefully wrapped in brown paper, along with a small gift box. She knew what was coming, & she didn't dare to open them up in front of me... She wanted to bring them back & opened them up at home, which I agreed. =) So I walked her to her front gate & saw her enter the house safely before I went off.
~.~.~
What's in the parcel & gift box? A few others knew. But what is conveyed in the parcel? Only she & I, will know. And truly I mean everything & every word in that parcel... as well as every word that I said over the phone... You are the "missing piece".
~.~.~
You are the "missing piece" to my life.
You complete my life... it's you, you and no one else.

"Welcome to HortPark..."
~.~.~
The Lin Clan had a outing not too long ago... We went to the Horticulture Park (HortPark, in short) under the suggestion by Caryn, now my officially appointed Scouts IC of the "Lin Clan". haha... She has been always suggesting & bringing us to places I never knew existed in Singapore. Next outing, we plan to go to this wonderful cheesecake place... but that will be another entry for another time. Teehee...
~.~.~
So anyway, it was a Friday afternoon. No classes in the afternoon. And we took Anli's car to get to HortPark. But before that, can I just add that they had lunch WITHOUT ME~! when we agreed beforehand that we were supposed to eat together... diaoz (super disappointing...) I only found that out when we all got onto Anli's car. I even turned down my roomie's invitation for lunch for that matter. Anyway, a Hungry Leslie was a Angry Leslie in the car... so the girls had to make a quick detour to West Coast MacDonald's Drive-through to get me a MacWings Upsized Meal to get that Olympics Limited Edition Cup. By the way, that was my first time going through a drive-through... so it was a experience nonetheless. haha.
~.~.~
So we were talking cock, eating my MacWings meal in the car. Before long, we reached our destination - HortPark. A little info on HortPark: It was developed at a cost of $13 million. Though it's half the size of the Botanic Garden, it has 20 themed gardens inside, a nursery, a horticultural mart, some restuarants, a showroom for people to browse, & a glassroom function hall at the lower level. Pretty cool, if you ask me... being touted as the first gardening & lifestyle hub in South-East Asia that brings together gardening, educational, research & retail under one roof.
~.~.~
About 12 hectares of the place is opened up to the general public, like us for sightseeing. The rest serves as the working nursery for the National Parks Board (NParks) which owns the HortPark. This nursery has been around since the 1970s, and they provide the plants, trees & shrubs for various public parks & Singapore roads. And according to the internet, free guided tours are conducted for vistiors.
~.~.~
So who knows? Maybe some of you, might want to bring ur family, friends or loved ones for a nice walk and/or pinic in HortPark & enjoy the variety of flowers, plants & landscapes at the 20 themed gardens and breathe in the fresh air. =) I know, I will someday... Don't always go Zouk, MOS chiong lah... This alternative is much more healthier.
~.~.~
That's me trying to finish up my MacWings Meal, while snapping a shot at me. That's the girls in "jail".

Some scenery pictures for you...

Anli is trying to take a "nice" photo of our back view, but I don't get what's so nice about our back view?
Ohh... that's me trying to ride the orange rhino. WHAT~!? We all need to let go of ourselves once in a while.
The picture of the Lin Clan girls is just splendid~! Heard Anli likes this picture alot.

More landscape pictures of the Park...

That's us at the "Hawaii Landscape" themed garden. We just look good lah...

We are trying to take a FUN SHOT at the playground... And that, my friends, is (was) a wishing well~?

That heart-shaped wooden stool reminds of heart-shaped TSP (dragonboat joke).
We wandered into the "Wizard of Oz" themed garden & took a picture with the Scarecrow & the Lion.

Some more scenery shots... and me with my broken slipper. It just broke all of a sudden.
The girls tell me it's my bad karma... =P
And FINALLY... my favourite photo of the Lin Clan. Just take a look, all of us so SEY!
The feeling is so surreal, like a scene from a dream. haha... I took the picture with the timer. Hehe... (claim credits) Caryn & Anli says it looks as though Melissa is resting on my shoulder. IT'S JUST A OPTICAL ILLUSION.
I'm innocent~!!! Plus she's not even my Charmaine. =P
~.~.~

Oh yeah, for those who wanna know how to get to HortPark. Here's the map... 33 Hyderabad Road.
