Let's Hear about V-Day...

It's February 14th, 2009...
The first Valentine's Day spent with my BaoBei, Charmaine.

This is the first Valentine's Day that Charmaine has ever spent with someone special (that special someone being me, of course! Haha). And since I'm that first "special someone", I naturally want to pamper her & make it special for her, etch it as part of her happy memories. I want her to kick back, relax & enjoy without a worry in the world, this special evening I've planned out for her...

Now, as far as V-day goes, FLOWERS are a must-have on the list. So I instinctively bought her a bouquet of 6 white-red roses before I went over to her place to pick her up for the evening, much like those movie scenes you would see in the States, where the male lead goes to pick the female lead up over at her place for their prom date.

When I passed the bouquet of flowers over to Charmaine at her door step, she was so delighted & abit taken aback as well... =P She brought me into the house, while she went ahead to prepare & dress up. Then we headed to our 1st location, which was VivoCity. Charmaine knew we were having DINNER @ VivoCity, but I didn't tell her which restaurant we were dining at... So I led her to Bakerzin? Dian Xiao Er? Swensens? all the wrong locations just to tease her abit (hehe), before we finally got to the actual restaurant, White Dog Cafe. Fortunately I made reservations the day before, cuz the queue was quite long, but luckily cuz of the reservations, we were third in the express queue & didn't have to wait long.

We were seated in between two tables of couples. The distance between the tables were very close that we could hear exactly what the other couples were talking about, which means that they could hear us too... so we didn't talk much during dinner. But as we were so close to the other table, Charmaine & myself could easily "eavesdrop" onto one of the young couples' conversation, not that we wanted to but we were simply too close. We could tell their conversation topics were so formal & superficial, that they were having their first date on V-day, "courting in the process"... =P The girl would laugh at the boy's jokes, but not wholeheartedly but kinda out of courtesy. So throughout the dinner until they left, we tuned in to the couples' "FM radio" & Charmaine & I gave each other those funny "eyebrow-raise". HAHA, it was hilarious!

Back to the food, we ordered a Mango Chicken, a Carbonara Penne & a Seafood Pizza to share. The Mango Chicken was quite tasty with a tiny bit of "weird", but it was nice "weird"... The pasta was fine, but I liked the pizza. Too bad we couldn't finish the pizza in the end, we were too stuffed up. We also abolished the idea of having dessert at the end of dinner too...

We went up to the rooftop for a after-dinner stroll. The place was littered with people, with couples! We had to look where we were walking, to avoid stepping on them! Anyway, somehow, we ended up at our usual hangout - the Petshop (our must-stop station @ Vivo), we wanted to look at the puppies on display but I guess it was kinda late, so they kept them back in their cages. We ended up looking at hamster instead. One particular fellow caught Charmaine's attention & we spent at least 45 minutes there, looking at it. She was enticed with the hamster, maybe I'll get one for her in the future?

Next, I decided to bring her to secret location number two. But as usual, my clever baby managed to guess it: Mt. Faber, before we got onto the taxi. I promised that I'll bring her there before, when I went up together with the Lin Clan. So this night I was fulfilling my promise. It was her first time up Mt. Faber tonight as well. We alighted the taxi @ the Jewel & we strolled uphill... We stumbled upon some fake snow @ the top of the Jewel, with romantic love songs playing in the background. It was such a beautiful sight added onto the evening. As we continued to stroll uphill, we came to the 360 degrees observation area where we could see Sentosa on one side, the heart of Singapore town area on the other. The sight was magnificent! So making use of the quiet moment, we sat down on the stair & began our gift exchange...

So, first... From the boyfriend to the girlfriend... now, V-day wouldn't be complete without CHOCOLATES too! So this is a small tin of Leslie's favourite HERSHEY'S KISSABLES...

And for the V-day gift... A box of Renoma underwear!

Of course NOT! It's juz a prank I played on her... the box of Renoma underwear actually contains a TUBE DRESS that she saw @ ZARA, but didn't buy at that moment cuz it was too expensive. So I later bought it without her knowing =) I even got her a VALENTINE'S DAY CARD, sort of like a love letter to sum everything up for that evening... =P

What she got me was a small VALENTINE'S DAY SCRAPBOOK, which she put so much effort into making. Let's take a peek at what is inside... hehe.

After the gift exchange, we stayed around a little while longer before Charmaine got too tired to carry on anymore. So we strolled down the slopes of Mt. Faber, hailed a taxi by the main road, hopped on & head back to her place first. In the car, we held each other's hand & dozed off together all the way home... =)

LoveS..."
